Apple Announces Special App-Focused Event For December 2nd (9to5mac.com) 5

Apple is holding a special event on December 2nd to highlight its favorite apps and games of 2019. The live event will take place in New York City. 9to5Mac reports: Invites went out this afternoon for the surprise event that will be held in just two weeks. Curiously, it appears the event will just be to highlight Apple's top app and game picks from 2019. In the event invitation, Apple leads with the tagline "Loved by millions. Created by the best." While Apple normally livestreams its events it's also not known whether this will app event will be broadcast live. Apple's Special Events landing page doesn't include any information on the December event.

  • Actually I don't, general purpose computing has been around since the 1940's.

  • Maybe they're bringing back the column browser in the "Music" app which replaces iTunes???

Next they'll be getting rid of folders because we shouldn't have a need to organise our files. Just stuff them all on the "hard disk" and use search to find 'em! Means they can be lazy and not maintain Finder anymore (which is already as basic as it gets).

The new "Music" app is a complete usability abortion :-(

  • that they're going to stop using live releases of their operating systems as late stage beta tests, they've fixed the iOS podcast app, and we'll now be able to revert the OS of iPhones and iPads to previous versions when they release systems that are buggy as hell.
    • And they will also add a button in iOS to remove the notch, and another to add a headphone jack to your new iPhone.

      • To be followed by Steve Jobs riding in on a Unicorn with a rainbow shooting out its butt (I'll let you decide who's shooting the rainbow...) as it's announced that iPhone 12 will have a user-expandable memory upgrade slot and that iOS is now fully user customizable.
