Dating Site For Mac Lovers Only 11

The Installer writes "An article on Komo's website talks about a new website to help Mac lovers find love. From the article: 'Apple Inc.'s ads used to challenge consumers to "think different." Now a website wants to help fans of the iPhone and Mac computer maker date different, too. Called Cupidtino, an homage to Apple's home base in Cupertino, Calif., the site aims to connect Apple aficionados with like-minded "Machearts." The idea is that if you love the iPhone and Mac maker's products you might be best suited to date a fellow Apple fan. Profile pages on the site reveal such intimate details as earliest Apple product purchases and lists of favorite iPhone apps.'"

So now they've moved on to breeding Mac fans. Can anyone say "Master Race"? Perhaps in another 10 or 20 years or so, Apple will develop a new device that allows you to tweak your zygote's DNA for particular charastics. It will come with "Mac Zealot" by default, but if you want to tweak less important things like hair/eye colour, etc, well, there'll be an App for that.

At least you won't have to worry about what to wear in the morning. Black turtlenecks and jeans for everyone!
    • It's the only way to breed out the annoying Apple-haters and establish a new pure order.

  • Actually this is near genius. Take all of the metrics applied to profile people by Apple marketing, then turn it inward for other purposes. Marketing becomes API for a site. Don't even need to tap into current marketing data-streams to make it work, because it starts at the output side.

Freaking Brilliant. Site looks nice too.

The "Designed & created in California" at the footer is a bit of a giggle. The design is very similar to the Apple site probably an identical color set if you were to match them.

The only thing I have a gripe with is the big photo that takes up nearly a physical screen and a half, but this is personal preference, I've always been in debate about this because its something Apple does on their site and it's something that a fair few of my customers do with their websites as well (or request) it. I have per

      • the layout is a knockoff (And could be tighter in many respects), but some of the features are pretty slick. Although it's limited to content from iTunes (lots of movies missing there), it's cute that the search is pretty flawless and provides another measure of taste to work with.

Curious why the gadgets (feature) weren't working - that's the first thing and APPLE product derivative site would want to get working you'd think.

And I like large photos, at least on the splash. Doesn't hurt to try to sell
