YML Posts Macworld Coverage 19

Pronoun54 writes "Your Mac Life, an Internet based radio show about and for Apple and Macintosh users, has a ton of interviews from Macworld Creative Pro. They have been posting Quicktime movies all week. Macworld was a lot smaller this year and had very few announcements, but if you couldn't or didn't choose to go, they sum up the show for you."

may crap my pants [igo4mac.com]. Question: how many windows systems have the styling to inspire furniture as out there as this? Personally, I like the little glowing butt added to the iMac. pretty funny stuff.
    • yeah, and only 500 bucks. 600 if you want to stand up. I'm stunned. How in the hell can it possibly be worth anything even close to that?

They ship it in a flat box. So when you open it you're confronted with some steel tubing, a platform, a light, and some wheels. For which you've paid $500. At that point how could you not feel like an idiot?

    • Ignoring those who cannot apprieciate form and function, I think this is a great looking product. This is what Mac is all about, being different. As for the cost .... It is steep, but it also looks as though alot of time and thought went into its developement ... I am sure that as with all things, the price will come down ... I would buy one ... but my FP iMac sits nicely in our living room atop the stereo ... cranking out tunes ...

First off, the XHifi [yourmaclife.com] speakers look as boss in real life as they do in the picture :D

This was my first Macworld (and probably not my last), and I had fun, as did the Linux-geek-who-loves-OSX that I went with. I was kind of disappointed that Adobe didn't have a booth of their own (nor a beta of After Effects 6.0), but it was cool enough just to mess around with huge Photoshop files on a G5... my God those things are fast (and they're also really quiet!). Also, to see Expose in action was really something... it makes all those screenshots I've seen previously all that more believable.

Oh, and the presentation by Fischerspooner [fischerspooner.com] was fun... I think they may have a new fan here ^_^

  • i think there was 1 post here on topic. i have no idea why PC people who never even hear of this event, much less been to it are posting here. i guess this is more fun then jerking off to them. slow night?

yes, mod this down. its not worthy.

I've been going for the past few years. This the narrow focus took a lot of the fun out of it for me: no greasy hands on the G5s, no games, so small companies with some seriously cool software. I don't want to stand around while some guy pitches FCP or Avid at me: if I want to check out some software, I will check it out on my own.

Guess I gotta go to the Apple Store in SoHo to dirty up a G5.

If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are real good, you will get out of it.

Working...
