Yeah, but does it require 10.1.5 or can i upgrade while still in 10.1.4 ? I'm avoiding 10.1.5 b/c of reported problems with DHCP.

Unfortunately, no. I think it was on MacFixit. They post their news for a little while and then it becomes subscriber-only, and I'm not a subscriber. But I still haven't upgraded to 10.1.5 yet because of the problems... google around I'm sure there's more info out there.

My shopping experience was a bit different. While I too carried the shopping list with me, I found that the fastest drives were not on the list. I then contacted an Apple Store where they were helpful in letting me know what would be on the upcomming CDR update for OS X.
By using this method, I was able to buy a fast drive that was unsupported in OS X, usable in OS 9, but knew it would be soon available to OS X as well.

There is a driver for USB mass storage devices which is already part of the operating system. It is /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.k ext, labelled com.apple.iokit.IOUSBMassStorageClass. It should work with your Neo Jukebox the same as it should work with my Neo 25, but the USB chipset in the Neos is flawed. I was able to get it to work in Linux once upon a time by modifying the USB mass storage driver to ignore some of it's integrity checks... I wonder if the Apple driver could be similarly modified. The cool thing is the update works transparently with Titanium, where as with OS 9 the two sets of drivers would often screw around with each other.
These two points together with lots of other little things (uummmm, flurry... [versiontracker.com])make me steadily more comfortable with the whole X thang. peace.
