Journal pudge's Journal: Eudora Crash When Sending Mail On Panther 9

I got Eudora to not crash while sending mail under Panther. Under the Hosts settings, I deselected "Use mail-exchange records" under "Sending Mail". So now I can send you mail once more, fear!

Of course, I was only WITHOUT mail-sending capabilities for the four hours while I was installing/migrating to Panther, and then the four hours I slept. But it seemed like a lot longer.

Speaking of which, I was up until 3 a.m. setting my laptop up for Panther, and I woke up shortly after 7 a.m., and I have a hockey game at 10:20 p.m. tonight. I am not sure how this is going to work.

Come now, a little chemical stimulation, and everything will go just smoothly.
    • Yeah, I have a hockey playlist on my iPod that plays stuff like Rob Zombie and King's X, I should be fine. :-) But on the way home I usually listen to the biography of John Adams; that might be a problem.

I might give up tonight and instead play 30+ drop-in tomorrow night.

How about posting some nitty gritty details for how you setup your mac under Panther?

My laptop in en route, might even be delivered sometime this afternoon. I don't know whether panther's going to be on it or not, but i'll put it on there, then i'll have to get things like apache/mysql/slash running on it as well.

We received a G5 at work yesterday. It did not have Panther included. We recived a G5 about a month ago and we're waiting for a 15" PowerBook to arrive. I expect the PowerBook won't have Panther either (it was on the same order as the 2nd G5) so we're waiting for it to arrive to do the Up-To-Date paperwork.
      • Mine just got here. It has 10.2.7 on it. No 10.3 cd. Though a guy down the hall received his 10.3 yesterday for his G5. So hopefully I'll call Apple, get my 10.3 cd's sent on their way and install from his in a bit.

Right now the powerbook is stuck at the "connecting..."... for the past 10 minutes.
    • I got my PowerBook last weekend, it's an amazing machine. Enjoy it (watch your lap when burning DVDs and CDs though or you could have some issues ;)

They are not shipping with Panther (the only macs shipping with Panther at this point are the just-revised eMacs and iBooks), but you can get it through the Up-To-Date program if you don't have it already.

Apache is easy - it already ships with the OS. If you want to install a custom version, I'd do it though fink (fink.sf.net) since compiling Apache (with mod_
