The problem with that cartoon, as funny as it is to programmers, is that it is impossible to "sanitize" inputs - they should be ingested into a suitable variable for preprocessing and validation before any comparisons are made to another variable. Consider former St. Louis Rams quarterback Keith Null - how does Mr. Randall propose to "sanitize" his last name?
